For the next four years we just have to stay
focused, pay attention, stay involved, and have all of our elected
representatives’ emails, snail-mail, and phone numbers at the ready. No one in
DC is handed the keys to do whatever they want! All of our voices need to be
heard by the people elected to serve us, including the president. And, in the event folks in DC are not trying
to listen, hey we take the party to their door step.
Hey, I already
told my sister to get comfortable shoes, just in case we need to roll up to DC
and keep things checked and balanced. Just saying!

Yassss. One of my coworkers went to a march here on Wednesday, and her group have been planning to go in weekly. She says she is in for the long haul because her family had to remove people from their lives over the last few days following the racist, homophobic, etc celebratory posts they did. She said she realized her white privilege bubble yesterday when she thought about past experiences with people she was blocking. She said it hit her that they had dropped hints all along, but she had ignored it, or laughed it off because the comments weren't about her. Then she said, "No more, never again.". I told her not to feel stupid, but to feel like she achieved a level of enlightenment.
Wouldn't it be awesome that our paths cross one day within the next four years in front of the Lincoln Memorial for march/rall number 30 something.
