Like most of you I'm eager to see the running mates for Obama and McCain. I was curious about the impact the choice of running mate has on the outcome of a presidential election. So, I went to

A: Presidential nominees don't pick their running mates based on this strategy as often as one might think. Even when they do, the results are decidedly mixed.
